The termination appears to have been spurred by an op-ed written by the victim’s parents, Lenny and Veronique Pozner, that was published in the Sun Sentinel last week, explaining the harassment they had allegedly been hit with from Tracy.

The university has previously said Tracy does not speak for the school.

‘In fact, Tracy is among those who have personally sought to cause our family pain and anguish by publicly demonizing our attempts to keep cherished photos of our slain son from falling into the hands of conspiracy theorists,’ the couple wrote in the piece.

‘Tracy even sent us a certified letter demanding proof that Noah once lived, that we were his parents, and that we were the rightful owner of his photographic image.’

Many have called for Tracy to be fired over the years due to his theories, particularly officials in Newtown, Connecticut, where the shooting took place.

Tracy suggested on his blog – memoryholeblog.com – the massacre did not unfold in the way authorities said it did, and may not have happened at all.

A Florida professor was fired this week after initiating a years-long campaign claiming the Sandy Hook massacre was a hoax and harassing the family of a victim he believes never existed.

James Tracy, who teaches Culture of Conspiracy at Florida Atlantic University, launched his own conspiracy theory in the aftermath of Sandy Hook three years ago, based on conflicting media reports from the day of shooting that lead him to question whether it happened at all.

As part of the bizarre theory, Tracy allegedly began harassing the parents of six-year-old Noah Ponzer – one of 20 children in the attack by shooter Adam Lanza – demanding proof that the child ever existed.

Tracy was finally sent a termination letter from the university this week, which he has 10 days to respond to, according to The New York Daily News.
