George Carlin’s Straight Talk on American War Culture and The Sham of Democracy

One of the greatest political pundits in American history was not a politician, he was a comedian.
Back in the day, people used to laugh at George Carlin’s diatribes and treatise on the fraud if the US political system and the military-government-media corporate welfare complex.
Many of the clips in the piece below were recorded in the late 1980’s and 1990’s. Twenty years later, no one is laughing anymore, because everything Carlin said is still true, and still nothing has changed. In fact, it has gotten worse.
If you can read between the satirical lines, you’ll see that Carlin was actually advocating for two things: common sense, and peace. Ironically, those two concepts are frowned upon in today’s hyperactive, self-obsessed American society.
