On Saturday morning, an as yet unnamed suspect tried to rob a bank in Miami Beach by passing the teller a note, and claiming that he had a bomb. When police arrived on the scene he fled to a nearby barber shop. After he emerged from the business carrying a straight razor, a standoff ensued with the police. Several witnesses filmed the tense scene, which ended with the man being shot and killed as he placed his hands on the hood of a squad car. The police claim that he raised his hand that held the straight razor, though it isn’t clear if that occurred based on the footage that has been made public.
