It is ISIS or Daesh, not ISIL

The descriptive words we use are important. While there is no difference between a nose rage and a handkerchief, a nose rage sounds less-becoming. There is no difference between murder and abortion on demand, but using the term “murder” makes the murderers uncomfortable. However, when different terms mean different things it is very important to use the correct term. There is a big difference between a federal prison and a county jail even though each is a place of incarceration.
Do not use ISIL (Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant) when speaking of or writing about ISIS (Islamic State of Iraq and Syria). The L in ISIL is likely Obama’s code to ISIS that if they invade Israel, the USA will not defend Israel. Only Obama used ISIL at first. Do not follow his lead. Do not use language that puts Israel in greater danger. First, ISIS is not even a State. They are murderous thugs. Second, the Levant includes the land of today’s Israel. “Levant’ is an old word that has long been used to designate the lands east of Italy that meet the Mediterranean Sea. http://www.etymonline.com/index.php?term=Levant . The word may not mean anything to you, but it means a lot to those who live in those lands. Words have meaning. Be careful how you use them!
