Taya Kyle makes every target in competition against champion shooter (VIDEO)
Legendary “American Sniper” Chris Kyle’s widow won a charity match against an NRA champion marksman last weekend with a 2,100 yard shot.
The American Sniper Shootout, held Saturday in Mason, Texas, pitted Kyle– who is a novice shooter–against NRA World Champion Bruce Piatt. In September, Piatt beat out 150 other competitors at the Peacemaker National Training Center in Glengary, West Virginia, to pick up his current title.
The equalizer in the match was a Tracking Point precision guided rifle issued to Kyle, while Piatt used a traditional rifle.
“Armed with Tracking Point precision-guided firearms, she nailed the competition and made 100% of her shots for a total of 10,140 points,” noted the company on social media. “We also raised $500,000 for the Chris Kyle Frog Foundation.”
The foundation is a non-profit that aims to provide time and space to military families to reconnect after deployments without the distractions of everyday life.
Piatt, who lost out on a $1 million prize if he won, was reportedly a gracious competitor.
