  • The above analysis is wrong. Curve = Distance in miles SQUARED (multiplied by itself -which the above neglects) x 8 = drop in inches from flat. Divide by 12 to get feet. This simple approach results in the same numbers as the spherical trigonometry calculation. An object 20 miles away x 20 = 400. 400 x 8 = 3200 inches. 3200 divided by 12 = 266.6 feet of drop. If you are able to see such an object, chances are you should not. No one else has found this curvature either. I’m not sure the earth is flat, but it does not curve as it is said to.
