The Pledge of Allegiance – dissected and explained
As I was watching the video of the town hall meeting in Burns, Oregon, I noticed the nonchalant manner in which the townspeople recited the Pledge of Allegiance.
For the first time I realized how we take the pledge and all it stands for for granted – no emotion is exhibited – no demonstration by anyone of the importance of the words they are reciting, both for what it the pledge is really saying and for what it means personally to the person reciting it

Perhaps then how we recite this Pledge will clearly demonstrate what we REALLY feel about its words and its meaning to each one of us personally
