Ohio Attorney General Mike DeWine says a retired policeman has been indicted on charges of rape, menacing and misuse of state law enforcement databases after an investigation. Fifty-five-year-old Jeffery Martin, of Chagrin Falls, retired in 2014 as an officer in Pepper Pike. He was arrested in December after a woman reported to police that she’d been sexually assaulted.

Pepper Pike is a suburb of Cleveland, OH, for those that do not know, it is on the border of one of several upscale communities area.  The bad apples seem to be spoiling the whole barrel here in Northeast Ohio as this is not the first of these type of story. Elvin Sanchez still has court in Parma on the 25th for domestic violence charges after he pleaded  guilty to misdemeanor sex charges involving a 14-year-old girl.

But Sanchez and now Martin are not alone in the rash of crimes committed by police. Just last month Officer Mister Jackson was brought up on charges that he held a woman against her will and assaulted her. Then there are the two East Cleveland police officers who shook down drug dealers of the Eastside Cleveland neighborhoods.

jeffery-martin1The pile of bad apples appears to be growing. I have to wonder if there are any cops in the Cleveland area on the level. I would think the departments in the Cleveland area are all trying to use the climate of the times to rid themselves of the worst criminals their departments have to offer.

Martin is charged on 10 counts, including felony rape, sexual battery, menacing and burglary charges. The indictment further alleges Martin improperly used the Ohio Law Enforcement Gateway to get information to stalk the woman. Unauthorized use of the database system is a fifth-degree felony. The usual response is parroted by attorney general Mike DeWine, calling such abuse “tragic.”

It seems with this response, that the attorney general of the state of Ohio, is oblivious to the epidemic of police abuse going on in Ohio. This is not an isolated incident as we see from all the cases popping up around Cleveland. Seems they are more the rule than the exception, and yet, Ohio leaders would have you believe they are shocked by such abuse when all the while they are enabling these criminal cops to get away with their crimes.

It is about time people realize that “Badges Don’t Grant Extra Rights.” This can not continue. The culture of the thin blue gang can not be allowed to stand if we ever hope to have liberty in Ohio!
