“When the Moon is in the 7th House
And Jupiter aligns with Mars.
Peace will guide the planets
And love will steer the stars.
This is the dawning of the Age of Aquarius.”
That is the opening stanza from the classic 60s rock ‘n’ roll song “The Age of Aquarius/Let the Sunshine In” by the Fifth Dimension. It announces the arrival of a new astrological age, when enlightenment, expanded consciousness and a spirit of brotherhood and sisterhood will banish the forces of evil from the Earth.
If anyone ever really believed in the Age of Aquarius, obviously their hopes have now been dashed. While the 60s gave us the JFK Assassination, Vietnam, Cold War paranoia, intergenerational conflict and police violence against campus protesters the 2000s have given us 9-11, endless war in the Middle East, anti-terrorism hysteria, vicious Internet trolling and militarized policing on the streets of our cities. The more things change the more they stay the same, the demonic forces are as much in control as they ever were.
And to top it off the Age of Aquarius itself is now viewed with hostility and suspicion. The concept has come under attack from the paranoid fringe (or is it mainstream?) of the conspiracy/deep politics community. They say Aquarian Age rhetoric is actually a front for the ambitions of the New World Order, a Trojan horse of phony peace and light being used to smuggle in the usual list of bogus bugaboos the Alex Jones crowd is always griping about: feminism, multiculturalism, gun control, “false flag” shootings, Zionism, FEMA camps, the global warming “hoax” and so on.
The poor, beleaguered Age of Aquarius has been tarred and feathered as a ruse and a fake, and we are now supposed to reject it as just another control mechanism used by elites to keep us distracted and complaisant.
Oops, Never Mind …
But our cynicism and/or disillusionment may all be for naught. It turns out the whole Age of Aquarius dawning thing is based on astrological interpretations that are questionable at best. The Aquarian Age is supposed to be initiated by the passage of the Sun into the constellation Aquarius on the vernal equinox (when days and nights are of equal length), but there is no consensus among astrologists and archaeo-astronomers that this has actually happened – or that it will happen anytime soon… more on the Age of Aquarius.
Actually, quite the hilarious topic. I remember many of the old folk tunes from the 1960′s (aka ‘pop’ tunes now). Everyone believed that the age of Aquarius was upon them.
Sadly, more college students should have taken Astronomy instead of P.E. Class back then. Then, they would have learned that the heavens have cycles, that there are 13 constellations (of which we recognize the 12-major constellations in the Zodiac), and that it takes around 24,000 years for all 12 to cycle through the sky, thus each age is around 2,000 years.
Sounds good and right on time right? Hardly. At the time of Biblical 1-A.D., the Astronomical sky was absolutely CENTERED on the constellation PISCES. While the AVERAGE time for the sunrise to shift from constellation to constellation in the sky is 2,000 years – there’s a small quirk between PISCES and AQUARIUS, PISCES is a LONG duration constellation. It takes 3,000 YEARS from the sunrise to enter-and-leave PISCES and get to AQUARIUS. Thus, the real ‘Age of Aquarius’ doesn’t actually arrive until around the year 3,100 A.D.
It will, of course, only take 2,000 years for it to go from Aquarius to Capricorn, but then they didn’t care about that in the Bible, did they?
The problem with the Zodiac is that it is OUT-OF-DATE by 5,000 years! If they ‘adjusted’ it to actually mean the birth signs (such as, if you were born in Aquarius, then you would really be born sometime in around February 20-March12, not January to February. Unfortunately, the zodiac has been being used for 5,000 years and no-one has cared to keep up with updating it. Therefore, it has slid more than one full constellation out of whack.
In reality, those born under ‘Capricorn’ are actually born under ‘Aquarius’ and don’t even realize it. Worse yet, no one even realizes it, because it was such a slow event in occurring (keep in mind, they only change once each 2-3,000 years), and science-astronomy has little to actually do with occult-astrology, in reality. Bottom line, those who know how to fix it don’t follow it, and those who follow it can’t agree on how to fix it.
Signs are meaningless, when the ‘power of the sign’ is supposed to be tied to the positions of the sun-and-moon, yet they are more than 30-degrees out of their ‘projected positions’ for ‘the sign’ to actually be accurate!
