When I texted Frank DeSomma, president of POF-USA, a few weeks before SHOT Show 2016 to see if he was unveiling anything new, he responded by saying, ‘Yes. The Revolution is Coming.’ I laughed and thought he was referring to the second American revolution. Frank’s a radical guy and he’s been known to say things like that. But what I didn’t know was that he was referring to his soon-to-be-released .308 AR-10 style rifle.
When I arrived at the POF-USA booth and laid my eyes on the Revolution, I immediately fell in love. Measuring 10.5 inches in length, weighing 6.2 pounds unloaded and employing a 25-round magazine, it’s one hell of a good looking gun. According to Frank, it’s the smallest, lightest and most compact .308 ever made. I should also mention the trigger is superb.
It will be interesting to know how the Revolution shoots. Being so light, recoil may be a bit stiff. But as far as size, weight and overall looks go, POF-USA may have a best-seller on it’s hands. I’ve been lucky enough to visit the POF-USA factory in Phoenix, Arizona and witnessed one of their creative pow-wows, and these guys are pushing the envelope.
There’s no solid info on pricing or a release date yet, but I think I heard Frank mention $2700 and June 2016.
I can’t wait to give the Revolution a whirl.
