The conservative Alabama Senator — who possesses a stellar bio — has stood alongside Ted Cruz, but has grown increasingly close to Donald Trump. The most obvious lead-up to Sessions’ endorsement of Trump came as Stephen Miller, a longtime top aide to Sessions, signed on with Trump’s campaign as a senior policy adviser last month and has been traveling with the candidate to recent debates. Previously, Miller had been a stalwart presence at Sessions’ side.
