/Asteroid-2013-TX68-NASA-confusion-over-how-close-hit-Earth
However, there is a 1-in-250-million chance it could hit Earth on its next pass in 2017.
Speaking about the threat Paul Chodas, manager of NASA’s Center for NEO Studies, said: “The possibilities of collision on any of the three future flyby dates are far too small to be of any real concern.”
With little data on this newly discovered asteroid NASA says there is a chance it sail harmlessly past our planet at a distance of 9 million miles or come a little too close for comfort at just 11,000 miles.
One thing the space agency is clear about is that Asteroid 2013 TX68 won’t cause Armageddon by smashing into the Earth.
Since it was discovered in 2012 there have been plenty of conspiracy theorists convinced this new rock will wipe out life on Earth.
