New Jersey Gov. and former presidential candidate, Chris Christie endorsed real estate mogul Donald Trump Friday.
Bloomberg reports the united Republican establishment front against Donald Trump started to crumble in a potentially profound way when with the enthusiastic endorsement, writing “The move, combined with the endorsement of Maine Governor Paul LePage later Friday, adds the establishment bona fides of two sitting U.S. governors to a devoutly outsider campaign. It also comes just days after Trump’s first two congressional endorsements in Representatives Chris Collins of New York and Duncan Hunter of California.”
Watch this Fox video clip from last August, as Gov. Christy tells Fox News’ Greta Van Susteren, “Donald’s a great guy and a good person. But I just don’t think he’s suited to be president of the United States,” adding, “I don’t think his temperament is suited for that and I don’t think his experience is.”
In accepting Christie’s accolade, Trump said, “Generally speaking, I’m not big on endorsements, but this is an endorsement that really means a lot.”
As an unprecedented finger in the eye of both conservative and establishment political pundits, it should.
