Scotland Gun Control: Where Nightmares Are Reality

Colion Noir predicted the future when he imagined a world in which air rifles are highly regulated. Now the government of Scotland is requiring this very measure of its citizens.

EDITORS NOTE: As you may or may not know, I’m Scottish myself, and I would love to call myself a proud Scotsman, but on this issue, pride is far from the appropriate word to be used.

Just over 20 years ago, on the 13th March 1996, the Dunblane school massacre claimed the lives of sixteen children and one teacher at Dunblane Primary School when gunman Thomas Hamilton entered on his rampage that would see him taking his own life, allegedly.. I say allegedly as there are conflicting reports surrounding the death of Hamilton, with some suggesting there were two bullet wounds to his head, something that is strange to say the least in suicides!

What happened in the wake of one of the first “school mass shootings” was a massive crack down on firearms.

Public debate about the killings centred on gun control laws, including public petitions calling for a ban on private ownership of handguns and an official enquiry, the Cullen Report. In response to this debate, two new Firearms Acts were passed, which effectively made private ownership of handguns illegal in Great Britain.

Here we are today, in 2016, from July 1st, anybody who wants to use or own an air gun will be able to apply to Police Scotland for an air weapon certificate, or a permit in some circumstances before the “Air Weapons & Licensing (Scotland) Act 2015” comes into effect from December 31st.

Air gun rules to be tightened Scottish Government logoAIR gun owners in Moray will have just six months to obtain certificates before new laws come into force.Scottish Justice Secretary Michael Matheson has today (Friday) laid an order in the Scottish Parliament which sets out the dates for a new air weapons licensing regime to take effect in Scotland.

Anybody who wants to use or own an air gun will be able to apply to Police Scotland for an air weapon certificate, or a permit in some circumstances, from July 1.

Just incase you missed that…. we can apply to Police Scotland, but there is no actual guarantee that we will be granted it by our oppressors!

So, how did we get here?

Well lets take a look at the time-line…

1967 – Shot gun licensing is introduced

1988 – Semi-auto rifle & pump action rifle BAN

1997 – Handgun BAN

2016 – Air rifle ownership will require licensing

So where next? Well perhaps it will read something like this….

2020 – Water pistols and making fake gun sign with hands BANNED…. OK, maybe I took that too far, but when you consider the fact they have banned certain knives here aswell, then maybe its not as absurd as it originally sounded!

Again, as the video states…

THIS ISN’T ABOUT SAFETY… ITS ABOUT CONTROL!

Take it from someone living it… DONT GIVE UP THE GUNS!
