Whether for or against them, there’s no denying that guns are a hot topic in America.
One website took that topic and looked at how guns and gun-related hashtags trended across Instagram, and appropriately dubbed them “Instagun” trends. The finds were charted into specific categories, which included the top Instagun states and cities, state sentiment toward Instaguns, the most common gun-related hashtags – such as #AK47 and #gunporn – as well as where those hashtags were used the most often.
Instagun trends were also compared with the number of firearm-related deaths in that area and how different high-profile mass shootings affected gun-related hashtag trends.
