David Cameron is being urged by his leading backbench critic David Davis to block Turkey's bid to join the European Union and visa-free travel for Turks.
Mr Davis has written to the Prime Minister, calling on him to withdraw support for Turkey's accession into the EU when he attends a summit in Brussels later this week.
He also wants Mr Cameron to make representations against proposals for visa free travel, under the so-called Schengen Agreement, to 77 million Turkish people.
