(Before It's News)

A Kentucky coroner has said blunt force trauma is the likely cause of death for a man who died when police hit him with stun guns after he became combative following a weekend rollover crash

The Associated Press had initially reported that 52-year-old Michael Roll, of Bowling Green, had become combative with officers who discovered his vehicle overturned Saturday night near Bowling Green.

Officers reported that Roll appeared intoxicated and became hostile, leading them to shooting him with a stun gun, which rendered him unconscious. Roll was pronounced dead at Bowling Green Medical Center following the incident.

But while the AP’s initial report made a connection  between the stun gun and Roll’s death, an autopsy conducted Sunday revealed that Roll had suffered blunt force trauma consistent with the accident. However, an official ruling won’t be made until toxicology results are returned in two to three weeks.

In over stun gun-related news, the Iowa Supreme Court recently ruled that a stun gun — whether operable or not — could be considered a dangerous weapon under their state’s laws.
