Opioid addiction kills, cannabis doesn't.

A  recent study conducted by the American Medical Association found a significant reduction — as much as 25% percent — in the number of deaths as a result of pharmaceutical painkillers, in states where medical marijuana was legalized, between the years of 1999 and 2010. Reaffirming the argument for cannabis rescheduling, yet again, proving that its not only a good idea, but also in the best interest, of this public health crisis!
For decades, people who have suffered injuries or were diagnosed with a disease, found themselves victims of the pharmaceutical pill epidemic — the likes of OxyContin and Vicodin were prescribed, as crutches to relieve pain and discomfort, while unwittingly, tightly tying a noose around its addicted victim’s neck. Instead of serving as a life support, pharmaceutical pills have entrapped their users into an addictive downward spiral, that most often results in prescription drug overdoses — a number that is currently estimates to be at around 46 people daily, according to the CDC.
.
On the other hand, marijuana, has not resulted in a single fatality, in ALL of recorded history — and the history of marijuana’s medicinal use, dates back thousands of years, across many cultures.
The study’s lead researcher and author, Marcus Bachhuber, MD, says that states with medical marijuana laws, had as many as 1,700 less fatal opioid overdoses, in 2010.
Buchhuber adds, that there is still more research that needs to be done, once more states complete the legal transition.
Given the magnitude and severity of the prescription pill pandemic, anything that could help should seriously be considered —  the legalization of medical marijuana is a positively sound solution, so what is congress waiting for?
