Donald Trump’s Candidacy As Explained By The Mel Brooks Musical, ‘The Producers’

(Before It's News)

As funny as this is, I can’t help but wonder if this is actually what’s going on.

Just in case you aren’t familiar with The Producers, its about two Broadway producers who need money quick, so they hatch a scheme to produce a musical that’s so offensive and over-the-top, it’s guaranteed to flop. Once it flops, they can collect the money from investors and go on their merry way. Only problem is that the musical they produce, Springtime for Hitler, is an unexpected success. Consequently, they lose all the investors’ money and are flat-broke yet again. There’s more to the story than the quick-and-dirty summary I’m giving you, but it should be enough to appreciate the joke here.

Anyway – Jimmy Kimmel got the stars of the movie, Nathan Lane and Matthew Broderick, to do a spoof of The Producers to the tune of Donald Trump’s campaign for president. And darned if that isn’t more or less what happened in real life (it’s gotta be. There are no other rational explanations that put him at the forefront for the nomination). Enjoy –

  • Good effort and it made me smile. I guess everyone will be coming after Trump but this year looks different. Trump is up against two foreign born phony’s, a socialist/communist, and a woman who maybe indicted. He’s looking golden.
