RED ALERT: Bill Introduced to Allow People in 1 State to be INSTANTLY Disarmed

 Mar 18 2016

In the United States of America, our legal system operates on the fundamental principle that individuals accused of a crime are innocent until proven guilty. In the state of Connecticut, however, a bill was recently introduced that would flip that principle on its head, at least for gun owners, according to Breitbart.

The bill would make changes to the law that would allow for the confiscation of firearms from gun owners immediately following the filing of a protective order against them.

This confiscation would occur before any sort of hearing would be held by a judge, meaning individuals could be stripped of their rights without proper adjudication.

Democrat state senator Mae Flexer, a supporter of the bill, proclaimed: “The minute a woman comes forward and asks for a temporary restraining order is the most dangerous moment of her life.”

Flexer’s comment was echoed by Michael Lawlor, undersecretary for criminal justice policy and planning for Gov. Dannel Malloy, who stated that a request for a protective order can sometimes by the “precipitating event” that leads to violence and physical abuse.

This looks an awful lot like “pre-crime” punishment, as well as a blatant and direct infringement of the Second Amendment-protected right to keep and bear arms and 14th Amendment guarantee of due process.

Thankfully, there are those who oppose this bill, citing the fact that it places gun owners in the position of being deemed guilty until proven innocent.

“You’re innocent until proven guilty, that’s how I was brought up. This bill before us takes that away,” declared Republican state Rep. Rob Sampson.

The main questions on the minds of the bill’s opponents was how long the confiscated would weapons be held for and would they be immediately returned if a judge declined to issue the requested protective order.

Furthermore, such a law seems ripe for abuse by anti-gunners and spiteful individuals seeking to do harm to innocent individuals with whom they disagree, such as an ex-significant other or a former friend following a fallout.

Hopefully this anti-American anti-gun bill will be stopped before it becomes law, as it is antithetical to everything America stands for and is in violation of our constitutionally protected rights.

Please share this on Facebook and Twitter to help spread the word that anti-gunners in Connecticut want to take away people’s guns on the mere accusation that they may have done something wrong.
