(Before It's News)

A high school principal in the small town of Griswold, Iowa, was placed on leave after being accused of driving while under the influence and carrying a loaded gun while intoxicated. And according to court records, this isn’t his first offense for such a thing.

Thomas Dunphy, 41, was pulled over for speeding early Sunday morning, but the police officer who initiated the stop soon found Dunphy had been drinking. Additionally, a loaded handgun was discovered in the center console. Dunphy, who is the principal at Griswold High School, is now facing charges for operating a vehicle while under the influence of alcohol and carrying a weapon while intoxicated.

Dunphy was also arrested – and pleaded guilty – for driving under the influence back in 2010 and was subsequently spent four days in jail and ordered to pay a fine of $1,200.
