Iran Lawlessly Assessed $10.5 Billion In Damages For US-Sponsored 9/11 Attack

Longstanding US anti-Iranian hostility continues unabated – the latest example coming from US District Court Judge George Daniels.

On Wednesday, he issued a default judgment, relating to Iran not appearing in court to defend against charges of involvement in 9/11.

Despite no legal basis for it to appear, he ordered the Islamic Republic to pay the following damages for the 9/11 false flag attack it had nothing to do with:

• $7.5 billion to families and estates of 9/11 victims, covering pain and suffering as well as punitive damages; and

• $3 billion to insurers for property damages paid, business interruption and related claims.

False flags are a longstanding US tradition, dating from the mid-19th century – 9/11 the mother of them all, state-sponsored by Washington’s criminal element, the pretext for endless horrors still continuing, one country after another raped and destroyed.

No evidence connects Iran to 9/11, parliamentary speaker senior aide Hossein Sheikholeslam calling the ruling “absurd and ridiculous.”

Judge Daniels issued it extrajudicially. “…Iran (was) never mentioned at any stage of the (post-9/11) investigation and the trials that followed.”

It wasn’t involved in related hearings. While still in office, Bush said “(t)here was no direct connection between Iran and the attacks on September 11.”

Sputnik News quoted Iranian press editor-in-chief Emad Abshenas, saying “(t)he people who committed those terrorist attacks were neither friends or allies of Iran. They were our sworn enemies…(T)he 9/11 attacks had nothing to do with Iran.”

What happens going forward remains to be seen. Billions of dollars of Iranian assets remain frozen, portions unrelated to the 2015 Joint Plan of Action. They could be used to pay court-ordered charges.

As long as the Islamic Republic remains a sovereign independent state, expect continued hostile US relations. Last year’s nuclear deal changed nothing.
