Jeff Flake personifies the Trump phenomenon & update

(Before It's News)

Nearly every explanation of the unanticipated rise of Donald Trump’s presidential bid begins with the same meme: “The American people are angry.“

It’s true. We have ample reason to believe our concerns are not heard by those we toil to elect. Their campaign promises are all too often forgotten once they reach the banks of the Potomac, and their actions thousands of miles away, simply don’t belong on our radar. Pressure being exerted by Republicrat Sen. Jeff Flake on Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell to hold a vote this month to confirm Barack Obama’s pick to be the next U.S. Ambassador to Mexico, stands as a first-rate example.

Flake, Obama’s point man on normalizing relations with the communist regime of Cuba, wants to expedite the nomination of Roberta Jacobson, Obama’s facilitator of the deal. In a 2015 ABC interview, Jacobson addresses concerns about human rights abuses in the island nation 90 miles off our shore by saying, “When we talk about profound differences on human rights I don’t know that I see that as an issue that gets fixed, certainly not in the near term,” Jacobson said. “We have no illusions about this government. We would certainly like to see a major improvement in human rights, but we don’t necessarily expect that will happen right away.”

On this issue, Flake even disagrees with his former Gang of Eight amnesty compadre Marco Rubio, who opposes the confirmation of Jacobson. Rubio’s parents fled the repressive Cuban dictatorship. The Castro’s have made numerous demands on the U.S. which are summarized in H.R.274. The way it works, Communist Cuba gets all it asks for and we get normalized relations with a brutal regime now magically removed from the State Department list of sponsors of terrorism.

Swell.

Still, the appropriately named Flake said that ending the year without an ambassador in place is “unfathomable,” a possibility that led him to urge McConnell to force a vote over Rubio’s objections. Flake argued it’s vitally important that the United States has a partner in Mexico on immigration, national security and trade, and a well-qualified ambassador is a key element for maintaining those partnerships.

“We need her [Jacobson] in this post … it’s crunch time now. Once you get into the next year it’s easier to just put them on hold” until the next president assumes office in 2017.”

What’s the problem with that, Jeff?

Remember this scenario (video) the next time the “rage” of American citizens is raised. Jeff Flake’s picture should be featured beside the word in the dictionary.

Update-tag

March 8. 2016:

The synchronized, like thinking, open borders clique who make up the mysterious but unified editorial board at the Periódico de la República de Arizona (Arizona Republic), pushed out another piece of deep reflection headlined: “We need an ambassador to Mexico.” The declarative statement is in the same league as your teenage son declaring, “I need a new car.” Saying it doesn’t make it so or guarantee it will happen.

The vapid piece attempts to sound lofty and supportive of maverickism as it extols “Arizona’s Sen. Jeff Flake for bucking partisan politics to get this vital post filled.” The editorial board, sounding suspiciously like telecommuting Tucson resident Linda Valdez, acknowledges Flake is supporting Marco Rubio for President, and concludes, ”[Flake} is rising above politics for the sake of international relations and Arizona’s best interests.”

Wanna buy a bridge, folks?
