For thousands of years now, garlic has been concidered as both food and medicine. Even the ancient Egyptians used garlic for treatment of ailments from infections to physical weakness.
In the past, garlic has been used as a food or medicine by every nation in the world,but for different reasons. For example, the ancient Greeks used it freely in their every daylife, but the athletes at the Olympic Games ate garlic in order to enhance their performance. The Romans gave it to both soldiers and workmen. However, garlic was limited to Europe. In ancient China and Japan, garlic was used as a remedy for high blood pressure, while in India, ayurvedic phusicians prescribed it for rheumatism and to prevent heart disease.
Honey
In most cultures through the history, honey has been used medicinally, but in the mid-twentieth century in the West was discarded in favor to antibiotics. However, in more recent years, the notion of unheated and unpasteurized medicinal honey has gained the following. The great thing in this rediscovery is that honey had success when it comes to combating drug-resistant wound infections.
