TND Editor’s Note: It’s easy to dismiss this Bloomberg headline for spin: “Sanders Says He’s Seized Momentum After Crushing Caucus Wins.”
The thing is, Bernie Sanders is actually correct. He does have real and surprising momentum. It’s one thing to see “blue states” like Washington vote strongly for Sanders, but Utah and Idaho embracing Sanders at this stage of the Presidential Election speaks to the general and growing frustration against “the establishment” that is upwelling and, is visible at both the grass roots of the Democratic and Republican parties. Neither of the party establishments like this upwelling one bit!
Die-hard Bernie Progressives are often clueless about the Democratic Party’s “super delegates.” Heads-up to any Bernie Sanders lovers among TND readers: if you don’t know what “super delegates” can do at a Democratic Party nominating convention, you should check that out – but beware, the knowledge is going to piss you off.
Professorial Sanders speaks of momentum, but he knows there is a big, fat brick wall between him and nomination. He can talk a good game about a segment of the Democratic Party establishment shifting to his support among super delegates. But I doubt he will gain much headway among “super delegates” in the end-game. He’s just “too socialist.” Meanwhile, to the horror of the Democratic Party establishment, the “meme” of “Hillary as liar” hit a cord on the back of Saturday Night Live, a traditionally pro-Hillary show (click here).
Life is stranger than fiction.

Bloomberg reports:
The Vermont senator won Saturday in landslides. He received 73 percent of the vote in Washington state, the day’s biggest prize in terms of delegates; 70 percent in Hawaii, and 82 percent in Alaska, the Associated Press reported. Those wins followed similarly lopsided results in Utah and Idaho on March 22.
“We’ve won the last five out of six contests, all of them with landslide victories,” Sanders said Sunday on CNN’s “State of the Union.” “We’re heading to the west coast, which is the most progressive part of America. We think we’re going to do very well there.”
Sanders’ latest wins followed aggressive campaigning and advertising that significantly outpaced his opponent. The self-proclaimed Democratic socialist held five rallies across Washington state leading up to the vote and had the endorsement of the Seattle Times, the state’s highest-circulation newspaper.
