The post BEAM ME UP! Scientists Make TELEPORTATION Breakthrough appeared first on Kev Baker Show.
EDITOR’S NOTE: Ok, so we cant technically “beam” ourselves up just yet, but we are definitely starting to get there!
Scientists have successfully “teleported” data to a non-local space with the use of lasers to take advantage of a long known phenomenum called “quantum teleportation”, giving hope to us geeks that sometime in the not-too-distant future we will be transporting ourselves here, there and everywhere!
Until then, or at least until the public is made aware of the technology, we will have to make do with the next best thing, a “virtual” substitute if you pardon the pun, and use the Holoportation that I covered in a previous article.
As we move deeper into this new digital age, the lines between virtual and physical reality are becoming so blurred that perhaps “Star Trek” teleportation will be rendered irrelevant as people opt to assimilate further into the matrix and away from the physical world.
…..
SCIENTISTS have managed to make a breakthrough in teleportation after being ‘inspired’ by cult show Star Trek.
By SEAN MARTIN
Dr Alexander Szameit and Dr Marco Ornigotti from the Institute of Applied Physics at the University of Jena said while it is not yet possible to teleport solids from location to location, they have devised a way to teleport their properties using a laser beam.
Teleportation may soon be a reality
The pair say that many technological advances were inspired by Star Trek, such as “Doors that open automatically, video telephony or flip phones – all things we have first seen on the starship USS Enterprise”.
