Uber liberal editorial writer Linda Valdez, given two pages to celebrate her “love story” of marrying an illegal alien who stealthily crept into the United States, writes, “Why GOP isn’t fit to govern.” The Republican crime? Rejecting a hearing for Obama’s pick for the U.S. Supreme Court in his last months in office.
Valdez’ biased selective memory ignores the fact that in January 2006, then-Sen. Barack Obama advocated filibustering (video) President George W. Bush’s choice of Samuel Alito to the high court in the same set of circumstances.
“How many kids are Republicans adopting?” was the absurd headline of editorial columnist Elvia Diaz’ incoherent rambling advocating for same-sex couples to adopt. Diaz managed to squeeze the word Republican three times in a four sentence Quick Hit.
The left leaning newspaper, using the label “unfair” in a recent headline on the topic — in reference to the adults not the children — honed it’s skills under the tutelage of “openly homo-journo” Randy Lovely who made the celebration of homosexuality a focal point of his tenure at the Arizona Republic. Lovely recently moved within the Gannett operation to VP of community news at USA Today.
Valdez and Diaz are not alone in their visceral loathing of Republicans. GOP hatred is a mainstay of the editorial board and columnists E.J. Montini, Laurie Roberts and cartoonist Steve Benson.
