Unless you're one of those people who moved there in the seventies or eighties, have long since paid off the mortgage, and subsequently decided to scrap the fire insurance, you won't be too distraught about the prospect of Fort Mac burning to the ground.
Fire insurance is going to save a lot of folks who were drowning in underwater mortgages.
