A woman being evicted from her apartment is suspected of “suicide by cop” in the video below.
Gallatin police officer James Spray’s body cam shows Laronda Sweatt coming at the cop wielding an ax. The cop orders her down on the ground multiple times as he backs away gun drawn, to no avail.
She just keeps coming with the ax.
So…
He fired two shots, both of which hit her. She died later at the hospital.

Tough call to make but WHERE was the Taser ?? If he didn’t have one– WHY NOT ??
Tasers are to bring about pain compliance not defend against lethal attack.
Hmm taser or gun??? Let me see here sparky if a drugged out nut bag has a freaking axe, even if I had a taser… nope double tap in the freaking head.

Damn straight. You don’t stop till they’re down on the ground like you told em. No warning shots just keep hitting central mass till the danger dissipates. Or should the cop let her cut him up a bit first?
Let’s see, if you had a taser and someone was coming at you with an ax, would you grab you taser if you had one or would you grab your gun?
He had plenty of time and distance to put one in her knee and knock her down. Just poor training and a severe lack of balls.Different story if she had a gun or was right on top of him. Then all bets are off but this guy just played it safe and maybe someone died who could have just been immobilized. Cops just aren’t cops anymore, merely reactionaries who know NO combat tactics whatsoever. You average martial arts student could have disarmed her without a weapon in a heartbeat. Again– POOR TRAINING.

Cops are trained to hit central mass. Warning shots are for the movies.
A Taser is NEVER deployed unless there is another officer with a real weapon also covering the attacker. Tasers do not always work just as pepper spray, bean bag rounds, batons, etc. do not always work.

Seriously, this was as justified as it gets! This lasted 5 seconds! In that five seconds he told her to stop 6 times! He did not shoot, until she was within 3 yards. She closed in from about 20 yards to 3 in about 3 seconds! He had no choice!
A taser is a compliance tool for someone who is combative, not someone with a weapon, who’s intent is to kill! And shooting someone in the leg leaves an extremely good chance they continue their attack. You’re under extreme pressure, and events are moving extremely fast. I have no problem with this!
