Ted Cruz caught lying again on Face the Nation this morning. Here is Cruz’s quote:
“The last contested convention we had in 1976, Ronald Reagan had a million more votes than Gerald Ford. But Gerald Ford got the votes of the majority of the delegates,” he said.
According to Wikipedia, in 1976 Ford won 26 states and Reagan won 24 states. The popular vote was Ford at 5,529,899 versus Reagan at 4,760,222. The delegates chose Ford as the nominee. Cruz is lying when he said that Reagan had a million more of the popular votes than Ford. The delegates at the convention chose Ford. Republican Party presidential primaries, 1976 – Wikipedia https://en.m.wikipedia.org/…/Republican_Party_presidential_…
Cruz claims to be a federalist and stands with states rights. It looks as though the delegates chose Ford because he won more states. Currently Trump has won 24 states and Cruz has won 11 (only 2 states were an actual primary), with Trump over 10 million in the popular vote and Cruz around 6 million. Ted Cruz is once again trying to deceive the people.
Meanwhile…
At a campaign stop just days before the critical Indiana primary, Heidi Cruz, wife of Republican presidential candidate Ted Cruz, said one of her husband’s strengths in the campaign is that he “is an immigrant.” “Ted is an immigrant,” Mrs. Cruz said, emphasizing the word “is.” “He is Hispanic.” (source)
Running around lying his ass off, stealing delegates, eating buggers on live TV, boinking hookers every chance he gets, and being called an immigrant by his wife. I mean, I can’t fathom why Lyin’ Ted is doing so bad as far as the election goes.
