Prince died this year on 4/21. Two days later, both Google and Obama recognized the 400-year anniversary of Shakespeare. So, why is Prince showing up with Shakespeare in this Simpsons episode 8 years ago; and, more specifically, episode 4, season 20 (in this leap year, 4/20 is really 4/21), in an episode that aired on 11/2, which is 21 backwards? This isn’t the first time we have seen Prince appear with Shakespeare. The Love in an Elevator music video by Aerosmith also features a “prince” kissing a frog as Aerosmith is dressed as “Shakespeare” in the opening scenes. Prince died in an elevator! In the video, Steven Tyler mimics Prince’s flailing arms from an elevator shaft in an appearance on the Muppets Tonight.
