Don’t Worry, Obama Assures He’s Not After Your Guns! Yeah, Right!
Obama was asked why he and Hillary Clinton don’t do more to hold “bad guys” accountable to gun crime, using Chicago as an example.
OBAMA: The notion that I, or Hillary or Democrats or whoever you want to choose, are hell-bent on taking away folks’ guns is just not true. And I don’t care how many times the NRA says it. I’m about to leave office. There have been more guns sold since I’ve been president than just about any time in U.S. history. There are enough guns for every man, woman and child in this country. And at no point have I ever, ever proposed confiscating guns from responsible gun owners. So it’s just not true.
He must be forgetting about when he and Hillary advocated for a plan like Australia. Where they did gun buy-backs, confiscations and prevent gun ownership for self defense.
OBAMA: We know that other countries, in response to one mass shooting, have been able to craft laws that almost eliminate mass shootings. Friends of ours, allies of ours — Great Britain, Australia, countries like ours.
CLINTON: The Australian government as part of trying to clamp down on the availability of automatic weapons offered a good price for buying hundreds of thousands of guns. They believed – and I think the evidence supports them – that by offering to buy back those guns, they were able to curtail the supply and to set a different standard for gun purchases in the future. So I think that’s worth considering.
And don’t forget his obvious lie about the effectiveness of gun laws.
