The British pound dipped in early trading on Monday, following a series of polls showing growing support for the “Leave” campaign in the U.K.’s upcoming EU membership referendum.
Over the weekend, an online poll by Opinium gave a two point lead to “Remain,” at 43% to 40%. The pollster’s last survey gave “Remain” a four point lead.
Another online poll conducted by YouGov gave a four point lead to “Leave,” at 45% to 41%. The two polls follow last week’s ICM poll, one of the few conducted by phone which has given “Leave” the lead.
