Hillary considering the disasterous Thomas Perez as running mate
Desperate Democrats, all too aware that their nominee Hillary Clinton is widely perceived as dishonest — even among fellow Democrats — have rolled out an “I Trust Hillary” campaign. Among the liberal loyalists making appearances on the Sunday news shows attempting to boost her sagging image was Secretary of Labor Thomas Perez. Arizonans will remember Perez as Obama’s Civil Rights Division lawyer who conducted a three-year harassment campaign, purporting to be an investigation, of Maricopa County Sheriff Joe Arpaio. Perez’ efforts culminated in a politically motivated lawsuit against Arpaio and his office for enforcing the provisions of SB 1070, a now gutted state law eviscerated by overreaching judges.
Tom Tancredo, a former five-term congressman, presidential candidate and author of “In Mortal Danger: The Battle for America’s Border and Security,” reintroduces Thomas Perez in this important commentary for WND, titled “Obama’s Harassment of Sheriff Joe.” Even the sharpest memories can use refreshing. Do yourself a favor and read it.
Perez is so unworthy of support that when Obama rewarded him for his reprehensible assault on Sheriff Arpaio by promoting him to Secretary of Labor, the confirmation roll call vote was historic in that it was strictly along party lines. Given that Arizona’s Republicrat senators voted to confirm leftists Janet Napolitano, Eric Holder, Hillary Clinton, (Flake and McCain split their votes on Loretta Lynch) and frequently supported liberals to the federal judiciary, the fact that even they — no fans of career law enforcement professional Joe Arpaio — withheld their votes for Perez’ confirmation speaks volumes.
What also is worthy of note is that Thomas Perez is reportedly on Hillary’s short list as a Vice Presidential pick. Any Never-Trumpers with concerns about our dangerously porous border, the astronomical burdens to American taxpayers and loss of national sovereignty should take note of the expansion of laxity with this calamitous selection.
