Mark Weiner, the longtime Democratic party activist and fundraiser, died on Tuesday morning in Newport as he prepared to head to the Democratic National Convention, former Providence Mayor Joseph R. Paolino Jr. confirmed. Weiner was 62.
Weiner had leukemia but Paolino was unsure what caused his death. “He was getting dressed to come to the convention,” Paolino said, speaking by phone from Philadelphia. “He got up early and went back to bed and passed away.” …. http://www.providencejournal.com
