“Never confuse a single defeat with a final defeat.” — F. Scott Fitzgerald
Imagine if you could do anything in the world without feeling fear or any negative feelings. It’s definitely possible, if you put your mind to it…Here are a few tips to remember:
Did something incorrectly? Made a mistake? Messed up big time? Then, learn from your past mistakes. Don’t run from them. Evaluate your shortcomings, and use that to propel yourself into your future endeavors. If you never fail, you will never know what success really is.
Often, when we fear something, we see that it’s just the unknown portion that makes us fear it. We often fear things we don’t understand or haven’t tried doing before. When you take the time to understand your fear, you will be able to properly address it.
Just jump, don’t look back! There are so many opportunities that I would have missed out on if I gave in to my hesitations due to fear. Your life will be much more fulfilled knowing you felt afraid, pushed past it, and learned you are stronger than you ever thought possible. David Joseph Schwartz once said, “To fight fear, act. To increase fear – wait, put off, postpone.”
What are you missing right now? When you center yourself in the present, you realize that everything is how it is and should be. You naturally accept the present as reality. Tapping into the now can be as simple as feeling your body and breath. I recommend reading Power of Now by Eckhart Tolle to learn more about living in the NOW.
Whenever fear strikes, turn it into something positive. Instead of thinking of something bad that can happen, think of what good will come out of your fear. Changing your mentality can go a long way to alleviate fear.
