Sometimes, when we get older, we lose our filters and say whatever we want. Sometimes, we don’t have much of a filter to begin with. (Cough.)
So it’s probably no surprise that when Colin Powell’s personal email was hacked, the author of such inspirational tomes as It Worked For Me: In Life and Leadership and My American Journey had some new quotable quotes.
Here’s one that’ll probably stick around. (via The Hill)
“I would rather not have to vote for her, although she is a friend I respect,” he writes in the email dated July 26, 2014. “A 70-year-old person with a long track record, unbridled ambition, greedy, not transformational, with a husband still dicking bimbos at home.”
Emphasis mine, because I couldn’t help it.
Other gems mined from the hacked emails (via USA Today) were Powell calling Donald Trump “a national disgrace” and an”international pariah.” He also referred to some of Clinton’s associates as “Hillary’s mafia” and her “minions.”
Just in case you missed the kerfuffle, Hillary Clinton recently blamed her entire email disaster on General Powell, who flatly refused to take the blame for her. As it turns out, he probably wasn’t the best person to ask for email privacy advice.
