Authorities credit CCP-holder for stopping armed robbery (VIDEO)
The Madison County State’s Attorney praised the actions of a concealed carry permit holder after he stopped an armed robbery in Granite City, Illinois, Friday night.
The armed citizen was dropping a friend off after work when he was approached by the armed assailant. The suspect intended to rob the man, but was not aware that his target was armed as well. The victim, who Madison County State’s Attorney Tom Gibbons confirmed has a valid concealed carry permit, shot the suspect during the confrontation. The suspect was subsequently hospitalized and the victim was unharmed.
Gibbons said the victim was fortunate that he was armed, noting that the situation could have ended much worse. Gibbons also confirmed that the victim will not face any charges.
