Drill Instructor Accused of Putting Muslim Recruit Inside Industrial Dryer
A drill instructor at Parris Island, the Marine training facility in South Carolina, is accused of burning a Muslim recruit by forcing him into an industrial clothes dryer and turning it on.
Documents obtained by The Washington Post, which have not yet been made public, show the recruit was continually harassed and called a terrorist.
“You’re going to kill us all the first chance you get aren’t you, terrorist?” the recruit alleged the drill instructor said to him.
The allegations are under investigation, but the drill instructor was already at the center of another investigation stemming from the suicide of Raheel Siddiqui, a Muslim recruit who jumped from a 40-foot stairwell to his death earlier this year after continued harassment.
