Followup GA: No Charges for Homeowner in Fatal Shooting

AUGUSTA, GA (WFXG) –
An Augusta homeowner will not be facing charges for shooting and killing a man who broke into his home.
At around 2:54 a.m Monday, September 12, the Richmond County Sheriff's Office was called out to 2439 1/2 Wrightsboro Road for a reported home invasion. When they arrived at the scene, deputies found forty-year-old Anthony James Lawson dead with at least one gunshot wound. He was pronounced dead at the scene at 3:38 a.m.
