The Eye Inside: How to Practice Remote Viewing (Week One)
If you watched the Netflix series “Stranger Things”, the idea of Remote Viewing (RV) may sound familiar. The infamous scene in Chapter Seven: The Bathtub shows protagonist Elle practicing Remote viewing (RV) in a make-shift sensory deprivation tank, in order to make contact with Will in the Upside Down.
RV is the practice of seeking impressions about a distant or unseen target using subjective means, in particular, extrasensory perception (ESP) or “sensing with mind”. The strange thing about RV, is that this is an actual practice, which has also been used in military experiments such as The Stargate Project.

The Stargate Project was a secret US Army unit established in 1978 in Fort Meade, Maryland, by the Defense Intelligence Agency (DIA) and SRI International (a California contractor) to investigate the potential for psychic phenomena in military and domestic intelligence applications. The Project, and its precursors and sister projects, went by various code names — GONDOLA WISH, GRILL FLAME, CENTER LANE, SUN STREAK, SCANATE — until 1991 when they were consolidated and rechristened as “Stargate Project”.
Stargate Project work primarily involved remote viewing, the purported ability to psychically “see” events, sites, or information from a great distance. The project was overseen until 1987 by Lt. Frederick Holmes “Skip” Atwater, an aide and “psychic headhunter” to Maj. Gen. Albert Stubblebine, and later president of the Monroe Institute. The unit was small-scale, comprising about 15 to 20 individuals, and was run out of “an old, leaky wooden barracks”.
Although The Stargate Project was terminated and declassified in 1995, and some view the idea of RV as a “pseudoscience” – I’ve found in my own application/testing, that using the mind’s eye to astrally travel to uncover hidden information with clairvoyant abilities is a practice that can be used by the layman, and in our “Eye Inside” weekly series – I will provide different exercises, which can allow you to cultivate and strengthen the creative mind and fortify psychic perception.
Fortification of the Eye Inside comes only with due diligence, and practice, practice practice. The first exercise is a practice that I advise you to attempt daily, and keep records on your results – each Monday, I will lead a group discussion on the Evolve and Ascend Facebook group, where you can share your results/concerns/obstacles and “wins”.
RV Creative Meditation Daily Practice – Week 1
- Get a notebook, and pen.
- Set a timer for 15 minutes, with a gentle alarm to awaken you from the meditative state.
- Find a comfortable position and begin a rhythmic breathing pattern, setting an intention to release all physical tension.
- Beginning at the top of your head, ending at the very tips of your toes – breathe into each area, and in your mind’s eye, say “I relax and release, I relax and release, I relax and release” to the rhythm of your breath.
- Next, focus your consciousness at a place of balance and centeredness – tune out all reactions from inner/outer stimulation, and repeat in the mind’s eye “I am calm, I am clear, I am light.”
- It may help to envision the body as a smooth, relaxing pool of water – fluid, yet still.
- Now raise your consciousness to the mind. Leave behind all thought, including the automatic thought form-generating activity of the concrete mind.
- In this exercise a simple phrase such as the following can be used: “I am a point of focused thought.”
- While focused in the mind, concentrate your attention on the room you are sitting in.
- With your eyes closed, describe in detail the contents of the room in which you are sitting.
- How many doors are in the room?
- How many windows?
- What pictures are on the wall and in which order?
- Are their any books on the shelf, if so which ones?
- Ask as many questions and state as many details as possible about the room surrounding you.
