Venezuela Import Oil From The US

Yep–seriously, the country floating on the world’s largest pool of oil is having to import the stuff. And the reason is entirely simple–200% proof idiot economic policy. No, it’s not the imperialists sabotaging the Bolivarian revolution, it’s not the fall in oil prices, not the CIA and not the opposition. It’s simply crass ignorance of how to run an economy.

Here’s the specific problem. Venezuela’s really big oil reserves are of a very heavy crude. This needs to be mixed with lighter crude so that a refinery, without hugely expensive changes, can process it. Venezuela does have light crude as well …. http://www.forbes.com
