10/18/16 Court – Today’s lunchtime report from John Lamb and Brand Thornton outside the Federal Courthouse in Portland, Oregon during US Governemtn vs. Bundy et all comes first. Then follows the after court report where John and Brand detail how Marcus Mumford hit it out of the park in his closing arguments for Ammon Bundy’s defense.
Then Kelli Stewart gives a 2 part update. Like she says, “It was a good day to be a Bundy. It’s a good day to be a Patriot.”
U.S. Attorney Ethan Knight
Things are really starting to wrap up. Both sides have rested, the Feds gave a weak rebuttal to the Defense. Assistant U.S. Attorney Ethan Knight gave closing arguments for the Feds. Maxine Bernstein tweeted many of Knight’s statements. “Ethan Knight urged jurors to use common sense,consider defendants made a choice ‘to take over someone else’s workplace.’ “, “This case is not about the Hammonds or Bunkerville, but the simple rules of law”, “Knight cited Ammon Bundy’s own words that they had a ‘unified purpose”, “Knight: The guns played an integral role in ‘fortifying that space that does not belong to them.’”, “Knight:defendants themselves, through their claim of adverse possession, are saying ‘they wanted to take this property, keep others out.’ “, “Knight:’Their plan to adversely possess this property is an admission to Count 1.’ “, “Knight spoke of law enforcement’s willingness and desire to not escalate the situation”, (that was a lie), “Knight said Ammon Bundy is cordial ‘until somebody disagrees’ with him “, “Knight: ‘the message was very clear to stay away.” (another lie), “Knight:’Even without the guns, it is intimidating to have people who don’t like you take over your office.’ “

In closing, Mumford told the jurors, “The US Constitution makes you the last stand. Stand alone if you must, but stand. Others will follow. We ask all of you to stand and say this must stop. It cannot be illegal to demand the govt. follow the law. You are the heart and lungs of liberty. Only you can make clear that Mr. Bundy is not a conspirator.” Mumford played videos of LaVoy Finicum on why he was at refuge, and an interview of Ammon Bundy; in which Ammon said it was time to act, not be acted upon.
As Ammon Bundy left the courtroom he blew a kiss to his mother, Carol Bundy, and mouthed the words, “I love you.”
Ryan Bundy begins court tomorrow with his closing remarks.

OK that’s three days in a row the Wall Street Journal has reported the news and not tried to make it. I’m back to subscribing to their publication. I hope beyond hope these jurors will make the right decision for us all and rule in favor of the Bundy’s. My prayers are with them.
You keep showing this picture of the judge with a quote that sounds like she is saying something hugely positive for the defense, yet I can find nothing on it. Did she actually say that? If not why in the world would you show a quote that would almost make her sound sane. It’s a lot like using the fbi’s perp photos, which were intentionally as bad as they could be! It would be very stupid!
A quote of her not allowing the Constitution would be far more appropriate!
