A man who shot a would-be robber to death in the Grand Boulevard area this week is not expected to face charges, as investigators seek a second attacker who escaped the attempted robbery, police said Friday.
Killed was Treamel Gray, 23, of the 18900 block of South Avers Avenue in Flossmoor, who was pronounced dead at 8:35 p.m. at the scene of the attack, according to the Cook County medical examiner's office. He was fatally shot while trying to rob two people inside a vehicle in the 4300 block of South State Street, police have said.
