Police say Johnson and a 17-year-old were shot after approaching a man who was sitting in the passenger seat of a truck that had just pulled up to the store after the driver had gone inside.
“During that time, two individuals walked up to the vehicle, to the victim's truck, pointed a gun at the victim, ordered him out,” said SPD spokesman Cpl. Marcus Hines
Police say the two suspects got into the vehicle.
“The victim, unbeknownst to the suspects, was armed. And he managed to fire rounds, striking both suspects, killing one and seriously injuring the other suspect,” said Hines.
