Hillary Forced to Cancel Appearances with Bernie After He Publicly Her “Basement Dwellers” Comment Bothered Him
Oh SNAP!
After Bernie appeared on CNN’s “State of the Union” and told everyone he was bothered by Hillary Clinton’s comment of millennials being “basement dwellers,” she canceled appearances with him this week including one today.
Sanders will now stump for her in Iowa and Wisconsin by himself; Hillary will be appearing in Iowa later in the week and it is speculated Sanders will no longer be there.
Bernie was asked if it bothered him that Clinton referred to his millennial supporters as “children of the great recession” who “live in their parents’ basement,” a comment splattered all over the media this weekend after hacked audio of her making the statements at one of her high profile fundraisers was dumped online. Millennials, as you can imagine, are outraged; not exactly what Hillary was hoping for in getting Bernie to appear with her this week specifically to appeal to millennial voters, a third of whom have vowed to vote third party (or for Trump after this hacked audio came out).
Bernie replied, “Well look, of course it does…” but went on to say, “So we have differences. There’s nothing to be surprised about. That’s what a campaign is all about.”
They don’t just “have differences”. Those two are night and day, and his supporters know it. Now with the hacked audio, there’s even less of a chance she’s going to capture the young vote.
Hillary abruptly canceled all joint appearances with Bernie after he said it… which really just makes her look even worse. Others are concerned that Bernie better watch his back, especially in light of some of his other comments. This election is so crazy, who knows how Madam Secretary Wannabe Prez will react.
