If an intruder breaks into your home and you feel like your life is in danger, lawfully the Castle Doctrine allows you to use deadly force and defend yourself and your family. In the state of Idaho; however, that does not apply. Many people KPVI spoke with were surprised that Idaho doesn’t have this law already. But advocates who are pushing for the bill hope to introduce it this coming legislative session.

This is ridiculous, the Castle Doctrine is not required in any state, the criteria for using deadly force is that you must be “in fear of your life.” The police exercise this right everyday both legitimately under man’s law and nefariously as justification for their cowardly murder of opposing civilians.
Myself, as a Christian I would never advocate killing another human being, however if an evil one lying in wait or a night intruder dies incidentally in the process of a Christian defending their home, family or livestock they are not guilty of neither crime or sin. Let me highlight that it should always be our goal to honor and preserve life whenever possible. Another persons life should never be taken with intent. Weapons of any sort should be avoided during confrontation but obviously if a perpetrator is equipped with a firearm it wouldn’t be wise to confront them with an arsenal of harsh words and physical strength.
The Churches position is clear; “Self-defense is justified, but the taking of life in that process is not! It is just that simple. If you are God’s and your life is in His hands (and you are faithful and obedient to Him), you will find that God will protect you from such matters. If something were to happen, then you must determine how far you would go in self-defense and what limitations you have to place on yourself. The point being, you are to place your full life into God’s hands. That is your protection and your strength. It is not in what you can do to deliver yourself and your family.”
Scripture supports a self defense but not a death doctrine:
Exodus 22:2 “2 If a thief be found breaking up, and be smitten that he die, there shall no blood be shed for him. 3 If the sun be risen upon him, there shall be blood shed for him; for he should make full restitution; if he have nothing, then he shall be sold for his theft.”
Luke 22:35 “And he said unto them, When I sent you without purse, and scrip, and shoes, lacked ye any thing? And they said, Nothing. 36 Then said he unto them, But now, he that hath a purse, let him take it, and likewise his scrip: and he that hath no sword, let him sell his garment, and buy one. 37 For I say unto you, that this that is written must yet be accomplished in me, And he was reckoned among the transgressors: for the things concerning me have an end. 38 And they said, Lord, behold, here are two swords. And he said unto them, It is enough.”
