A gun shop in Longs, South Carolina, was hit by looters during Hurricane Matthew, making off with a couple hundred guns.
Altogether, about 225 guns were stolen from Five Star Guns and owner Daniel Honeycutt believes the crime was previously planned. Honeycutt said a wall filled with AR-style rifles was completely stripped and gun cases were smashed. Shattered glass was scattered throughout the shop and Honeycutt said bleach was poured everywhere.
“I never knew the power, or the wind, would have gotten so hard or else I would have probably been here sleeping when they came,” Honeycutt said.
Authorities are investigating the break-in and while the serial numbers were all well-documented, Honeycutt is concerned about the guns now being in the wrong hands.
