A popular Russian news anchor, Dmitry Kiselyov, has been repeatedly warning that actions “impudent” actions by US forces toward Russia could imply nuclear warfare.
Following Hillary Clinton’s rhetoric at the recent debate about controlling Syrian airspace as an affront to Russia and others in Washington accusing Moscow of war crimes, the relations between the political classes of of the US and Russia seem to be eroding.
The willingness of bureaucrats and individuals in the news media to incessantly encourage involvement in foreign affairs and to march carelessly into nuclear war is staggering.
Russian officials rejected a motion put to the UN Security Council which demanded an end to the aerial bombings in Aleppo, Syria. This means that that Syrian led strikes will continue, and US rhetoric for further involvement in this conflict will increase.
“The loud talk in Washington of a ‘Plan B’ for Syria. Everyone understands what this means: direct military force in Syria,” Kiselyov said. “We’ll shoot them down,” said Kiselyov during an interview with a spokesman for the Russian defense ministry concerning US aerial strikes.
It appears that the same war rhetoric is being employed in Russia that we’ve seen in US media. This is what happens when you use a military as a policeman of the world.
