Campus officials at Ohio State University alerted students of an active shooter incident, according to a series of tweets sent Monday morning.
“Run Hide Fight. Watts Hall. 19th and College,” the university’s Department of Public Safety said, adding that police are on the scene and continue to advise students take shelter or avoid the north campus area.
The Columbus Police Department also issued a statement about an “active shooting situation” social media. They said their officers are assisting university police.
Both departments are also asking people in the area to follow the directions of police on the scene or call 911 if you have information about the incident.
This story is developing and we’ll add details as they come in.
